Why buy Koi from Midwest Koi?

1.  American Born and Bred.  Our koi is purchased young and healthy from a top-quality American Breeder, they are not imported.  Your purchase from us will support American jobs and our economy.  They have gone through an intensive, multiple-phase culling process.  Our fish are the ten to twenty great quality fish that you get from a spawning of 250,000! 

2.  Naturally Raised.    We sell the equivalent of "natural" or "green" or "organic" raised fish. The pond is filled with many native life forms, plant and animal, and our koi are exposed to this natural environment allowing them vigorous growth and health.  The water is clean and oxygen rich.   In the pond they root around and find tasty natural foods, such as baby crayfish, snails, insect larvae and submerged plants which supplements their regular diet of the highest quality koi food.  They exhibit great coloration and body and fin development from being in this environment.  The growth rate we have experienced in our pond has been amazing! 

3.  Individually Hand Selected.  We do not buy in bulk.  We travel to our breeder and pick out each individual fish that we sell.  When you visit us you will be amazed by our amazing selection of koi and their very, very good looks!

4. Watch then Select.

Most of our visitors will spend at least 1-2 hours here.  You will have individual attention, you can relax and observe the fish as they swim around.  We feel that koi fish are just not meant to be viewed in a glass fish tank or concrete holding tanks.   Our observation platforms are designed so that you can view them swimming from above,  as they would be seen in your pond.   Once you make your selections, the nets are raised for and the koi are placed directly into your transport bags, complete with oxygen for your ride home.

5.  Nice Buying Environment.  Well, at least we think so. We're not a pet shop, a water garden retailer or a pet superstore.  We have fewer in number, but more variety, and higher quality koi than you'll find in those types of places.  You may come and view them in their natural setting, let your kids & dogs run and play in our big garden (no extra charge for the friendly black lab and three cats!), take your time, enjoy the experience.  No pressure no hassle.  We keep koi reference books around to peruse or purchase.  We sell the food the fish were raised on.

We also have, nice healthy sarasa comet goldfish..they are great for smaller ponds. New this year we have butterfly fin as well as standard fin sarasas.    The cherry red of these fish is AWESOME!  Also we know that they are WINTER HARDY, Wisconsin Winters OK!!
